Paper Pumpkin Alternative Project

An alternative project from my July 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit

SUMMER NIGHTS

I know there are plenty of you missing those annual summer traditions like attending the county or state fair in your area. Well, this alternative project, inspired by Mary Fish, should put a smile on your face.

This bookmark was just waiting to be made, needed to be made, this month. My friends and I joined an awesome book club, so we needed bookmarks, right? I bought the gorgeous Delightful Tag Topper punch and needed to put it to good use (last used: Easter). I purchased the July Paper Pumpkin add-on kit and have 24, yes, two dozen, stellar card bases at the ready. This bookmark was begging to be made.

HOW I MADE THIS PROJECT:
  1. Trim a card front into two 2" strips (or just a hair under 2" to easily fit into the punch). Slide one of the short ends into the punch, press and voilĂ , you have a bookmark.
  2. Punch out the ferris wheel die cut from the Paper Pumpkin kit. Snip off the roller coaster section at about the second tiny gold window from the right and round the corners of this piece if you like.
  3. Trim off the structures from the left side of the remaining ferris wheel piece.
  4. Stamp two firework bursts in VersaMark ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. The bookmark may warp just a bit, so smooth out with fingers when cool to the touch.
  5. Adhere the ferris wheel piece flat to the bottom of the bookmark and add a gold puffy star sticker from the kit to its center.
  6. Pop up the roller coaster section at the bottom and in front of the ferris wheel.
  7. I added three Gold Glitter enamel dots to the upper portion of the bookmark.
  8. Insert a loop of ribbon (loop end into front of bookmark and through to back; tuck loose ends into loop and pull gently). This ribbon is from my stash.
I made two bookmarks from one card front. So easy and so pretty! I hope you're enjoying your July 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit. If you'd like to receive an awesome, inexpensive monthly craft kit delivered to your mailbox each month, please click on the PAPER PUMPKIN button above to subscribe.
